Changing to Cherries!

Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it? :)

I've just been busy with trying to sell the house (still no luck yet), and with trying to get things ready for spring/summer.

I also joined in a great team on Etsy called the Sneak Attack team. You can visit their blog here. They are really wonderful and I think show the perfect example of true Etsy spirit.

Last night, I finally got to join in on one of the attacks (I've been missing them because the times haven't worked out for me) and I bought the CUTEST cellphone holder for my new cellphone. It has cherries on it, which is what inspired me to change my blog background!

Why Facebook is My Enemy, and Open House

About two weeks ago, I tried to get into my Facebook account, only to find out it had been disabled.

"Disabled?!?" I wondered.

I clicked on the FAQ's link that was included, and read through the list. I had not violated any of the terms, and couldn't figure out what was going on. Per the instructions, I emailed Facebook.

After not hearing from them after several days, I emailed again.

As of today, still no response. I kinda feel like they may have just set up an email for fun that doesn't actually have anyone checking it! ;)

Because Facebook has helped me grow my business, I couldn't wait any longer for Facebook to contact me back (and actually, I'm assuming they probably won't).

So, I had to set up a new Facebook account. It really wasn't very fun, and then of course I had to try to remember who I had in my contacts from my previous account. That took quite a bit.

Now I am trying to work on getting back onto my Fan Page - thankfully, I had set up my husband as an admin so I still had some minimal access - and then eventually hopefully things will be back in order.

But right now, I can't help but be a little upset at Facebook. I had put off joining Facebook for many years, thinking it only to be some teenage attraction. When my hubs finally talked me into it, I got more and more comfortable and finally started getting somewhere with my account... and then they disabled it for no apparent reason.

What can you do?

In the meantime, I am just trying to catch up to a point where life is in order again.

On another note, because I barely have any contacts on my new Facebook account currently, I wanted to pass on the news that we are having another Open House on Sunday from 2pm - 4pm, 2405 Chandler Rd E, Bellevue, NE. We have also DROPPED THE PRICE TO $119,900!!!!!!

This house is a great deal and we hope we can find a buyer soon. Please pass on the word to anyone you know that may be interested! :)

My First Treasury!

One thing I love to do to find new and unusual sellers on Etsy is to scroll through Treasuries. The treasuries are always so beautiful and well put together!

Sometimes the theme is a color, or a search term, or an Etsy team, or even just showcasing your favorites.

I've never been able to snag a treasury - that is, until today! I was let in on a little secret called http://www.craftopolis.com that has a countdown clock you can use to help you try to time when the treasuries will be up for grabs! I was also told about a great feature on Etsy called Poster Sketch where you can try and lay out your finds ahead of time so that it's ready to go when you do snag a treasury!

I'm not a newbie to Etsy, but I don't devote all of my time to it either, so I never knew about these features until just a couple of days ago, and they've already been successful for me!

Anyway, I'd love it if you would all stop by and see my treasury! Thanks! It is:

Seriously?!?

I apologize in advance that this posting may be hard to understand, but you'll soon understand why.

Recently I had an issue with eating something that had apparently been cross-contaminated with gluten. Being somewhat new to gluten-free living, and lacking any sort of brains at the moment, I decided since I was sick anyway (from the gluten) that I would go ahead and eat something that I knew full well was loaded with gluten.

Bad Idea. Really Really Bad Idea.

So, I spent the greater portion of this week running to the bathroom and suffering from terrible stomach cramps, mostly from my own doing (the cross-contamination by itself would have probably only made me sick for a day, maybe two).

I was finally feeling better on Wednesday, and decided I could handle running a shirt order out to my mom. My mom had been sick with a cold, but I figured no biggie because all I was doing was dropping off an order.

I spent maybe 15-20 minutes max at their house while dropping off the order and catching up.

Thursday, I noticed my nose kept running and I was a little tired, but figured it was probably allergies due to the weather changing and also some continued fatigue from the gluten issues.

Early Friday morning (1am), I woke up with a raging sore throat and continued to wake up off and on due to sweats, which I can only assume were from a fever.

Yep, I caught my mom's cold. Only 15-20 minutes of exposure max, and serious hand scrubbing once I got home... but I still caught it.

Now I am dealing with on again, off again fever, very bad sore throat, little voice, deep hacking cough, and lots of fatigue.

Dang my lack of an immune system!!!!! Here I was finally feeling better after my gluten nightmare, only to catch one of the nastier colds I've had this season. Yuck!!

So much for catching up on my work....

Preparing for Spring

This winter has been difficult all over the country, and here in Nebraska has been no exception. Thankfully, this week has been showing some signs of improvement, and maybe soon we might actually hit "average" temperatures! ;)

In the meantime, I was browsing through my Better Homes and Gardens magazine and saw that their flower package for the month was a set of Hostas.

I have a seriously bad black thumb (I'm not a great gardener, that's for sure!), but one thing that has succeeded in my current yard are hostas, so I decided I would order them as a pick-me-up to prepare myself for spring.

I placed the order and they will be shipped to my brother's house (since we hopefully will be moving soon, if we can get our house to sell). I can't wait to see them! I love all the different varieties of hostas, and that I can't kill them... or at least, I haven't yet. ;)

Do you have a way of cheering yourself up while you wait for spring?

New Month

I can't believe it is March 1st today - a new month! February went by so quickly, with getting the house ready to sell and working harder at finding new ways to live gluten free.

I'm happy to say it sounds like our open house was pretty successful - now we just have to wait and see if anyone gives us an offer! We are really hoping and praying that we are able to sell our house quickly and for a good price.

Anyway, so I might be a little more absent this month, since we'll be busy with open houses and showings and trying to keep the house spotless amidst three cats and a dog... sigh...

But I will try to keep you updated!
